You can always tell when two people have found their perfect match and with Maggi and Wayne this was apparent. Their love for travel, adventure, and for each other, made their wedding day incredible.  It was a true honor for our team to get to be a part of the planning process. Tabby was our lead wedding planner. She and Maggi hit it off right away, as did their dogs, Captain and Rudy. As wedding planning and doggie dates meshed into one, we started to see this wedding vision come to life. This couple will hold a special place in our hearts but take a look at what made their wedding stand out.

Here are three concepts we loved about Maggi & Wayne’s wedding:

1. “Let the Real Adventure Begin.” ~ With Wayne being a commercial airline pilot and their love for travel, incorporating a travel component was a necessity to making their wedding tailored to their lifestyle. Here are a few of the ways they were able to incorporate their love for travel and airplanes into their wedding décor.

Their Guest book was a four foot wide wooden airplane propeller. Each of their guests was able to sign the propeller with their well wishes for the newlyweds. This will be treasured as it adorns the wall of their home for many years to come.

Their party favors were gold airplane bottle openers that had a trailing tag saying “Let the Adventure Begin.” This keepsake will serve not only as a reminder to the guests of this special day but also be used as practical tool throughout their life. You can also, find these in our Graceful Events party favor shop.

A collection of photos from their travels together was scattered throughout the Harbor Ballroom at the Abbey Resort. Their guests enjoyed getting a glimpse into the wonderful adventures that they have already shared together.

Unique Table Names...

Instead of using table numbers, they did table names of the Pilot's Alphabet.  For example: table 1 was “Alpha”, table 2 was “Bravo”, table 3 was “Charlie”, you get the rest...

2. A Summer Romance Color Palette ~ From the decorative linens that shimmered just right to the twinkle light backdrop on the head table, this wedding was downright gorgeous with blush, navy and golds.

The Linens were a decorative statement that completely transformed the room. The head table caught the guests’ eyes immediately as they entered the ballroom due to the sparkle of the navy sequined tablecloths. Guests got to enjoy some sparkle at their own tables with the gold sequined runners over a white linen. Our favorite was the gold sequined table cloth for the cake table scalloped all around; visions of Belle in her dress dancing with her prince came to mind.

Each table setting was aesthetically inviting to their guests. The place setting had a gold charger, a blush lamour napkin, a menu tucked in the napkin fold, and the bottle opener party favor resting on top.

Behind the head table, they featured a white twinkle light backdrop to set the stage for a romantic dinner ambiance.

3. How to cool down your guests on HOT summer day ~ Their wedding day was in the height of the summer, it was beyond hot and humid that day. However with a few proactive measures, the guests were able to enjoy the day in spite of the heat

Extra water stations for guests were scattered throughout every location so guests could stay hydrated.

Wedding programs were also fans for guests to stay cool during the outdoor ceremony.

A cocktail reception was planned to be indoors as an inviting location for guests to cool down and retreat.

At the indoor cocktail hour, signatures drinks of “Maggi’s Mule” and “Old Fashioned Wayne” were flowing abundantly. These signature drinks were refreshing and enjoyed by all!
